The Piave Society is an Italian Heritage Society founded in Ironwood, Michigan in 1918 to provide assistance to miners of Italian heritage and their families on the Gogebic Range. Although the mines have closed, the Piave Society continues to exist in the Ironwood area to promote Italian heritage on the range and help in the local community.
What We Do
Historically, the Piave Society was created to financially assist those in need. Presently, the club acts as a social group and a vehicle to promote Italian heritage and customs in the Ironwood area. We have regular meetings and member activities where food, drink, discussion, and Italian customs are commonplace. We help in the community by offering a scholarship to a local student each year, giving back to local charity, and participating in local events. We hope to grow even more and showcase and celebrate the rich Italian heritage that has added to our area.
